Biking and hiking to the Chimpa Fortress
The Colca Valley is a unique place. A natural jewel where man has learned to live in harmony with his environment. A laboratory of life, where you can observe the best of the high Andean fauna, and a paradise for adventurers and lovers of great landscapes. But, above all, the Colca Valley is a reminder of the enormous power of the mountains that surround it and the grandeur of the rich pre-Hispanic past. It was its inhabitants who knew how to work the land on the slopes, the architects who built the buildings that can still be seen in the valley today. The Colca is and will always be a fantastic place for travelers who visit it.
We cycled together along the right bank of the Colca Valley and then conclude with a climb to the ruins of the Chimpa Fortress for a breathtaking view of the Colca Canyon.
